Signs of spring are beginning to emerge at Wrag Barn with the appearance of snowdrops and catkins on the course and the days are getting longer enabling more golfers to play in the afternoons.
We have had the course remeasured so that men and women can compete from any tee with the appropriate handicap adjustment and for anyone only wanting to play 9 holes but still maintain a handicap; both the front and back 9 have been measured to facilitate this. A more recent addition has been the introduction of a measured winter course with the installation of winter tees and together with more paths and drainage the playability of the course during the winter is much improved.
Dan Gray was delighted to get a hole in one on the 12th green during a Sunday Stableford competition in January. Scott Talbert was the overall winner from a field of 76 entrants with 36 points and everyone agreed that a sunny day in winter is a wonderful opportunity to be outside.
Looking forward to longer, warmer days!
