Junior Presentation Night 2024
Junior Presentation Night is always one of the highlights of the year at Wrag Barn and this year was one of the best ever.
There are so many pictures on our social media platforms celebrating the awesome achievements of our Cadets and Juniors who seem to be able to hit the ball miles, sink every putt however impossible and cut shots off their handicaps with ease.
The golf success stories are an important part of the week and the reason everyone signs up to take part, but the additional benefits are many: The friendships that are made and the life skills that are learned have no price. Rudyard Kipling’s line ‘If you can meet with triumph and disaster and treat those two imposters just the same’ comes to mind where golf is concerned. There is always a mention in the speeches about mutual support and to us that’s just as special as winning.
Thank you Alan and Brian for the time you dedicate to our Juniors and Cadets. (We wish we’d taken a photo of them standing under the spectacular arch created by Stella Mason the parent of one of our cadets) Going back to work will feel like a holiday. A special thank you to your families who have missed your presence while you have been organising the Juniors and Cadets.
The Wrag Barn team of golf professionals, clubhouse staff and green keepers always go the extra mile to develop skills, provide physical and emotional support and present the course to the highest standard whatever the weather and a simple thank you seems rather inadequate, but it comes from the heart.
Lastly; thank you to our Junior Captain Louis McDiarmid who has led from the front and gave an awesome speech summing up everything in this post with so much eloquence, charm and humour.
If we’ve forgotten to mention something or someone, we apologise, it’s a constant failing and never intentional.
